While we appreciate IMA 's efforts to update the knowledge level of CMAs to current trends with two parts exam, there would be questions how it could be equated with other professional exams like CPA when they have 4 part level exams which needs sufficient time & effort to pass the exams.Economics & Marketing parts have been removed from the new syllabus. When we say that we are mainly concerned about the profitability of the business , the knowledge of economics & marketing are very much vital to analyse the trends.
My name Sayed Amin, I am from Bahrain, i register to CMA course that will held next March @BIBF in Bahrain, i graduate from University of Bahrain - Banking & Finance course in 2004. My concern about the accounting that totally forgotten, and I am wondering if you can advice me what's the course or books that i have to ready before i start the course, I am new here and your advice is highly appreciated
Dear IMA Members and CMA s . I have already commented on the ill effects of current 2 part exam system. I find only 2 comments on this topics. Instead of giving your comments in the future of CMA s , please give your comments on this relevant topic which may reach the management to reconsider for 4 part exam to be more vigorous and on par with other professional exams like CPA, ACCA etc., and as before CMA with 4 parts. We want to increase the strength of CMA s with more knowledge, abilty and exposure not with mere numbers as I found recently a statistics in Strategic Finance.

Dear IMA , I think the new CMA program will enhance the CMA designation when comparing with
CPA , CFA , CIA , CFP , CTP ..., so the IMA board of directors decision are correct and I agree with them
and the new system exam are more difficult and the pass rate for last May and June was decreased .
I only hope IMA do more effort to advertising CMA in USA and in the middle east and especially Egypt .
