Hi, I registered to have my CMA 4 exam on 30-Dec-2009, it is my first trial and i doubt i can make it the first time, any way i am trying my best to study and understand the material very well and to get well practiced on the type of question i will face on the exam.

Only 43 days are left on the exam date and i only reviewed 30% of Part 2, but i belive that even i didnt make it the first time at least i will have the experience of the exam my self which is important for my second trial, still have 43 days to use effeiciently.

      Wish me Luck.

For my prior post for the 43 questions of CMA 4 exam, the IMA didnt reply till today if passing these question subjected o any ethical violation or not.

Please who need them urgently for his/her exam dont wait you can get them from the IMA plus an online testing questions, just go to the IMA web and typ CMA EXAM SUPPORT PACKAGE ($25) on the search field and you will be guided on the WEb.

My advise to all CMA 4 preparers these questions are very importatnt and crucial in your praparation for the Exam.

Thanks & Good Luck to All.

      Dear George,

I want you to work hard these days and use a plan until you finish the final exam.

Don’t think of second attempt right now, don’t doubt passing just give your best performance. The fear to fail is one of indications that success is coming in your way.

Stay away from negative energy, negative people and negative thoughts.

Do attract success and think about how you will feel if you pass and become a CMA?

How this will change your life? This is what really maters now and this will keep you going.

Any back up plans is not important now, just focus on studying and performing in this coming exam.

Don’t judge your self and trust gad that everything will be fine.

As you know specific and difficult goals are great motivators.

To become a CMA is difficult and needs a lot of effort and time but its not impossible.

You already achieved a lot by finishing 3 challenging parts.

Now you have the chance to know how strong you are by doing your best in this exam.

      Good luck

      Dear Haleema,

Thanks a lot for you great words and motivating tips.

Actually i am trying to convemce myself that CMA 4 is not a rocket science anyone can pass the exam if attained certain steps in his/her preparation such :

1- Understanding every and each information.

      2- Comprehension.

3- And most importatnt step is to practice for the exam by studying the 43 sample question in the exam support package and the online testing trial which is offered in the same package.

My advise if you didnt get that package please do for you upcomming exam as i understood from your posts.

Thanka Again wish you all luck and success.

Hi everyone, I'm also taking the Part 4 exam this December and I wish all of you luck and success as well. Thanks for all the tips!

    • posted 11/25/09 by Indrajana Moeljadi

I'm taking the Part 4 exam this December as well. Although I'm a bit peeved because the latest date I can take the exam is on th 18th of Dec, whereas I would have preferred to take it later during the month (after Christmas) as the holiday season will give me time to study.

It's disappointing that the exam centers are closed around Christmas and New Year (although I understand why they are closed), therefore making the December window very short (only 3 weeks, instead of 4.5).

I haven't started revising yet - will now have to do so with a greater urgency!

I am going to take Part 4 this December, for the first attempt.

I hope it's the first time, also the last time.

But it's harder for me, as an international student from China, to finish the essay question within 3 hours... Some question are really long, and I have to conquer language barrier.

Hope everything's fine, and best wishes to all of us!

I just sat for Part 4 today.  I was really nervous going in to it.  It was not as hard as i thought it would be.  As others have said, time can be an issue.  Not just time to do the questions but anxiety about making sure you have enough time.  I'm optimistic about it but would not be shocked to fail.

In my opinion, if parts 1-3 have been passed fairly recently then part 4 really shouldnt present a big challenge.  i would say that my studying was more just review and refresh of things that i've already learned.

I give all of you who have english as a second langugae alot of credit.  i cant imagine how hard that must be to study and take these exams.

      good luck everybody!

I sat my exam last Friday.

Time was no issue. I ended the exam with 20 minutes left. Skip the questions you can't answer straight away and leave them for later.

The questions themselves aren't that difficult as long as you are prepared. I just reviewed all other parts and used common sense. There was one topic which I ceded in Part 2 which came out in Part 4 - my luck I guess.

Now it's just the wait until I get the results...

    • Just had my part 4 exam yesterday. Time was no issue and I managed to answer all questions although I am not quite sure about some of the answers but I think in general I performed better than last time I sat for the exam in August.

The questions were not that difficult and required application of general knowledge and I feel optimistic about it.

Now have to wait to get the results which I really hope to be positive.

      Good luck for everyone.

Today I finished my exam; I had 6 scenarios to solve with 4 to 5 questions each.

I solved all questions but 2 of them were complicated with calculactions. Frankly I just guess.

The questions were based on general knowledge of CMA material.

Most of questions were direct although I think I was not lucky with the scenario collection I got!

I’ve been studying so hard for months; hope I can pass this exam. I don’t want to have this experience again!

500 out of 700 will be sufficient to pass.

I think we will be receiving our results in 6 weeks via email sent by IMA; I wish it’s earlier.

Please do let us know the exact day of announcement so we can check IMA web site and also update us with any news which is relevant to CMA part 4.

      Happy New Year,

I know it's too early to get the result, but I checked my CPE record yesterday to see if they posted the result again with no luck. I sat down to study for a couple of hours the other day to prepare in case I don't pass. It's amazing how your brain gets lazy after a few weeks of not studying. I got a headache from studying. I really wish I pass the exam. I don't want to go through this again. I wish you all good luck!

I am waiting for the result, 6 weeks really a long time, but nothing we can do just wait untill the announcement date come. I did my part 4 exam on 22nd of Dec. 6 scenarios with 29 requirements. long scenarios and the time is difficult to manage. Good luck to you all thanks!

How are you doing my friends?

I pray we pass, I know we don’t wish to retake this exam again!

      Hope we celebrate soon.

    • Personally I am having a hard time these days waiting for the results and each day passes I get more anxious/nervous that I have a difficulty in sleeping these days!

As far as I know ICMA will be off on Feb. 13 & 14 so, CPE credit will likely be posted on Monday 15th or maybe they surprise us and post it on Friday 12th.

6 weeks is a very long time and hope that all of us will have good news after all that waiting.

      Good luck to everyone!

I believe our big concern is because of part 4 exam type.

The requirement of many questions in the exam was abroad and not clear, that’s why we are not sure if we stated the right answer.

I guess most of us on the border of either pass or fail, it depend on the judgments of our analysis for each question.

There is nothing we could do now but wait and support each other!

Never gave up no matter what happened.

My goal is to be a CMA in 2010.

    • posted Feb 11 by George Ghaly

I had my Part 4 attempt on 30-12-2009, and as most of you i got 6 scenrios with 29 questions.

But unfortunately i didnt answer around 3 scenrios becasue they on topics i didnt review and the questions was very specifice and not general ata all.

I belive that CMA 4 exam that i had was not fair at all regarding the tested tpoics, personally i belive that the exam was not relevant to the core of the CMA itself.

Accordingly, i belive that i will not make this time by any way and i made my mind to shft for the transition exam (Part T) under the new CMA program, i think that this part will be very focused than the CMA 4 exam.

Also to be CMA by 2010 is my target.

      Good luck everyone.

If we fail exam then they make is 0. As I can see here almost everyone has mentioned they have cleared exam which is supporting the theory I mentioned.

      Can anyone confirm?

Please don’t give up, I hope you earn your qualification in 2010.

I suggest you go for Part 4 exam in April and not to switch to the new exam, because you already have the experience and the fresh knowledge. You have an extra credit!

I already sent the email but still didn’t get any respond yet, I guess this is because of the time difference.

      Good luck.

      Thank you Nawar,

      Actually many things changed!

First, on the personal level I feel more confident in my self, the qualification really changed the way I think.  Now I am more clear in decision making and my analytical skills improved a lot. These changes develop as you progress in the program and through continuous problem solving.

Second, after I got my qualification I can see more respect and admiration from the management and between my colleagues in the office. The quality of my work is enhanced a lot and I can perform my treasury tasks in a professional way. I earned the skills through CMA qualification and now its time to apply them in my work.

It was a challenging journey, but you learn everyday through the process and become stronger.

CMA needs a lot of hard work and dedication. THE ONLY WAY TO PASS IS TO PROVE THAT YOU CAN EARN IT!

      Walter,

       Find below my study plan.

      • First I registered as early as possible for the exam in order to maintain flexibility and control of time.
      • I used Gliem books (Part 1, 2, 3 & 4)-Focusing only on important points and reading fast.
      • Gleim online includes (T/F), Study sheets, scenario questions & MCQ.
      • I also solved IMA retired questions.
      • I made a summary of all important points, formulas during my study which I reviewed in the week before the exam.
      • Passing part 4 exam is very much related to being flexible and having the knowledge.
      • Typing skills, practicing actual scenarios and getting use to the whole environment of online exams are very useful.
      • Planning is the key for passing, plan your study time and how much you should finish everyday, plan your time in the exam and don’t spend more than the time given for each scenario.
      • In the exam focus first on the questions you can directly solve and then try solving difficult or indirect questions which needs more time to analyze.
      • Answer all questions, if your not sure just guess. Write formulas you used in calculation, partial credit may be grated so don’t mess it and write what you feel is relevant.
      • Stay relaxed and believe me you will have enough time to solve all scenarios. But you should watch the time for each scenario.
      • I planned to finish preparing for the exam in two months; I had to go to the office at that time, exercise, study and have breaks in between.
      • I recommend having one week of revision of all important points and practice scenarios.
      • Try to stay focused on important points and don’t get confused coz of large study scope; You don’t have to read everything.

      Good luck,

       Haleema Mohammed, CMA

Based on my understanding, the 30 CPE credit earned from passing Part 4 exam satisfies the CPE credit needed for the current year. Thus, if you passed Part 4 exam in Dec. 2009, you satisfied the CPE credit needed for 2009 and you will need 30 CPE credits for 2010. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You're definitely right that planning is the key for passing. I will try to put the tips you had given in my set out plan in order for me to have focus in my study and achieve my objectives.

Actually, am still in the planning stage and drawing out my action plan. This action plan should be something manageable with timelines. Anyway, I planned to take the Transition exam on June 2010, so I still have enough time to prepare relative to your 2 months study period.

Thanks a lot for finding a time to respond to my query.

Essay questions is the only way to examine your analytical skills and your general understanding of the material. IMA wants to examine your ability to solve real problems and your flexibility in the application of CMA knowledge gained through the process.

The request of each question will vary.

      • Compare between two subjects.
